Kenneth L. Seymens, M.B.A.

Mr. Seymens was the President and COO of one of the nation’s largest provider of wireless telehealth monitoring systems. Responsible for the company’s day-to-day operating activities, including revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management. Prior, Mr. Seymens created a healthcare and technology advisory group focused on healthcare merger and acquisition transactions, strategic consulting and capital raising services. Mr. Seymens is engaged by private equity and venture capital firms to advise on emerging trends and companies in the healthcare sector for both strategic and financial investment purposes. Proactively sourcing new investments in later-stage healthcare and technology companies. Successfully creating the healthcare and technology financial advisory practice by assisting clients with business development, venture financing and management development.

Mr. Seymens founded and headed the firm’s first healthcare and technology practice. As the Managing Director at Duff & Phelps national investment banking and financial advisory firm focused on providing merger & acquisition, private placement, valuation, financial opinion and restructuring services.

Mr. Seymens is the former Senior Vice President of Strategic Technology Development, and the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the American Hospital Association (AHA). As Chief Technologist he had executive level responsibility to lead and manage Internet and off-line technology-based business development for the AHA, its subsidiary the Health Forum and fourteen personal membership groups (PMGs). A key member of the American Hospital Association’s senior executive team, Mr. Seymens provided overall information technology leadership and vision developing an enterprise-wide information technology and eBusiness infrastructure strategy. Mr. Seymens and his team were chartered with the development of key strategic business relationships, all voice and data Information Technology functions, which were the source of all AHA publications.

Prior to joining the AHA, Mr. Seymens founded JustUs Communications, a Medical and Public Health Informatics and Technology consulting firm. At JustUs, Mr. Seymens used his industry contacts to assist Health care professionals assess, create and manage the successful implementation of medical technology-based initiatives. He is a nationally known expert consulting with diverse health care providers in developing strategic technology plans.

Currently, Mr. Seymens is a board member of the Norwegian American Hospital Foundation, in Chicago, IL. He is also a member of the Kellogg School of Management’s Healthcare and Biotechnology Alumni Advisory Board. Mr. Seymens studied computer science at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Seymens received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
